Odd. I couldn't point it to the client install folder, but I copied the data files to the UOX3 folder and it started right up.

I did get it from here... I dunno. I was reading a couple of other posts. I -do- have to populate the world on my own? Is this something that can be done in a batch or do I need to pick and choose where I want each individual creature? :) Edit : Okay, I downloaded MSVCR71.DLL and now when I run UOX3...

Quick question about running my own shard...

Sorry for the newbie question, I am about to attempt this for the first time. I've read through the documentation, and it seems pretty straight forward. I want to set up a LAN server for some friends and I. What am I going to get/not get with the basic install? We just want to run around in the game...
