Another loot problem :)

Post by Benedict »

Hi again.

I've managed to get my shard up and I would just like to say... wow!
I've been having quite a number of issues, most of which I have been able to sort out by reading through the very detailed (and helpful) forums.

Would just like to give a special thanks to the following people:

Stanf: For your awesome starter kit - helped me craft my first GM set
Xuri: For you insightful comments on the forums - Fixed most of my issues
Grimson: For your ever so witty replies - Bring a smile to my face every time

Ok

So this is the problem I'm having. I've made myself some new armours/items/wepons. I've basically copied over the data from Stanf's custom.dfn file. In this case I used the Dragon Armour (drag_arms/drag_leggings/ect/).

My problem is I added these items to a group in the Lootlist.dfn file (LOOTLIST gmsetitems) with the item headers (in this case choatic_helm/choatic_chest/ect.)

Example 1:

[choatic_helm]
{
get=base_item
name=What a Strange Helm...
name2=Choas's Eyes
color=0x0649
id=0x2b11
value=127,46
weight=500
layer=0x06
def=28
hp=115
str=10
intadd= +5
restock=15
decay=1
}

Example 2:
[LOOTLIST gmsetitems]
{
choatic_chest
choatic_gorget
}

Then I add the desired LOOTLIST to the creature I want my item dropped by (In this case a Skeletal Dragon)

Example 3:
[skeletaldragon]
{
NAME=a skeletal dragon
ID=0x0068
DIRECTION=N
BACKPACK
GOLD=120 200
LOOT=gmsetitems
LOOT=gmsetitems
LOOT=gmsetitems
LOOT=gmsetitems
LOOT=gmsetitems
LOOT=gmsetitems
STR=898 1030
DEX=68 200
INT=488 620
HPMAX=800 1200
KARMA=-22500
FAME=22500
MAGICRESISTANCE=1003 1300
TACTICS=976 600
WRESTLING=976 1000
MAGERY=801 1000
EVALUATINGINTEL=801 1000
DAMAGE=10 22
DEF=15
NPCWANDER=4
FX1=-1
FY1=-1
FZ1=-1
FX2=20
NPCAI=2
SPATTACK=8
SPADELAY=5
TOPEACE=1183 5
CARVE=51
RACE=12
FLAG=NEUTRAL
}

My problem is when I kill the monster, I find the loot. Only problem is, there tends to be 5 or 6 of the same item. I find it tends to be the choas_chest (when I add it to the list) which mostly drops.

Been thinking about it and could it have something to do with the items ID? (ID=0x....)

Anyways...

Hope someone can help explain this problem to me.
Thanks Benedict

PS:
Running the following
Experimental Build 0.98-4.0h
Windows 7 Ultimate 64X
Latest version of Razor (not sure what version)

My apologies... I got home and tried the lootlist again... it appears to be working fine... erm... :oops:

On a lighter note :roll:

I am working on making some really cool GM set items+Others. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

I know this might sound silly, but after you wrote your loot list did you remember to load the scripts?

I believe in the console you hit " * " to unlock it, then " 7 " to reload the DFN (or is it " 9 "?).

Anyway, it sounds like you wrote a proper script then forgot to re-load it into the server.

I know it sounds trivial (and might not be what happened in your case), but I've embarassingly done it more than a few times myself.

Thanks for the compliment on the worldfile. A lot of that was a combination of Giwo, Xuri, and a lot of other contributors just loaded into one easy download. Can you imagine trying to decorate all of Britannia with a single GM and the " 'add " command. 8)

Hey again.

Stanf you know your suggestion would not surprise me, seeing as I was working on the lootlist around 2am. :)

Also I just finished a nice list of protection adding items similar to that of the UO of old.

Since I most of the files I got came from your original starter kit (slightly edited now) I would really like you to be the first to have a look at them.

Going to test them tonight when I get back home. If your interested, maybe I could send you a copy of the finished product.

Thanks in Advance
Benedict
