i went nut trying to feed those pack beasts. any time i try to feed it the item always drop into it's pack and not eaten by the pet beast. if i need to put thing into the pack is EZ by first open the pack and just drop the item there instead of on the pack pet.
if it can be done ez through a change could we have a button or some key or command to feed the pet instead of dropping item on it. it's too complicated to feed pack pet. i tried for hours and it always went into the pack and not eaten by the pet. i must be crazy or went nut.

Not really a fix, but my shard just did away with animal feeding altogether.
Probably not a good solution to a persitant server that intends to be occupied all the time, but since the 4 of us who do play, do so once a month or less these days, feeding our animals became quite the headache.
Ironically, we sped up the hunger timer for PCs, as we played so infrequent there was no incentive to carry food.
Also increasing the hunger damage up to 25hp (with the increased timer meaning that 25hp whack happens more often), and quickly running low on rations becomes a serious issue.
But for animals? It became a bit tough for our PCs who were on quests to keep their animals fed and happy.

from reading the feature to get the pet to bind so that if the tamer use recall instead of gate the pet will also be with the tamer at the destination spot instead of leaving the pet stay at the initial location wandering without the owner. for this binding feature the tamer need the pet to be bound. to get it to bind, the tamer needs to feed the pet. as of currently on the server i setup with the latest version 98-4.0 is the one i'm having a hard time feeding a pack pet. did it for a few hours without success, so i quit feeding. i just went to the uox.ini file to set that timing to get pet hungry would be in 100 years or so. so far the packy still happy but we'll see what happen in a few days.
