Items do not have info/stats/tooltip

Whatever you call it. I'm helping my friend run a private server for our gaming community and everything is working perfectly except for the item tooltips. This seems to be a problem for everyone playing, not just individuals. When we hover our cursor over an item to check it's stats/info, it'll have the item name then an error under that where the stats should be. Are we missing a file? Or is there a fix for this? Thank you.

That sounds weird. I am definitely not experiencing that on my end. Could you post a screenshot, please?
Also, did you experience the same thing when testing on dragon slayer's shard?

You can see the error, not sure what's wrong.

I'm testing things to make sure my friend's server is running ok, he's doing all of the technical stuff. As for testing on a different shard, i'm completely new to ultima and have on idea what i'm doing

I haven't been seeing the same issue here.

Could you provide the following information:
* Specific UOX3 version used
* Specific client version being used
* Client language

Client version is 1.25.35 from what i can tell, it's the Ultima Online Gold.

Client is in english.

I'm guessing it's the newest UOX version, i'll have to check with my friend when he gets online to know for sure.

It might have been 1.25.35 when installed, but it would have had to be patched since then, as UOX3 no longer supports clients that are that old Check client-version at bottom of login-screen, under username & password-fields.

That's what it says at the login screen.

That's a pretty old client. Might be that the server thinks your client supports some features it doesn't (UOX3 defaults to enable support all the way up to real basic KR support, but 4.0.6a would be, what - SE?).

I'm writing up a post fully explaining how to use the CLIENTFEATURES and/or SERVERFEATURES to enable/disable certain things in the clients, which I'll be posting soon, but for now try the following to see if that helps:

Ok, so, Age of Shadows 6.0.1.10 (Patch 72) would be supported by the second set of features there?

For clients above 6.0.1.7 you will want to enable KR support too (because of a packet change for items/inventories), so:

+Support for first KR-clients and everything below
SERVERFEATURES=488
+Server-support for ContextMenus + AoS + SixChars + SE + ML features

(which should be close to the default setting in latest experimental builds as well)

actually client version check on every packet would fix old client support thing. i can play using 2.0.3 on my uox3. clilocs, tooltips, book packets, bulletin boards etc. packets must be checked. i will fix and contribute them if i have spare time.
