(I know, you've gotten a reply to this question in a different thread, but I'm answering anyway, in case someone else ever wonders 
You must edit the login.cfg (MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!) file in your UO folder and make it point to your UOX3 server, for instance...
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
...instead of the default...
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7775
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7775
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7776
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7776
Then just run Ignition, and it should automatically start up the UO client and remove the encryption, allowing you to login to UOX3. Note that this might only be true for older client versions (2.0.x -> 3.0.x ?).
