QUESTS!!!
OK, I have a pretty good world set up but without quests its going to get old. How do you make quests for players? For example I want the player to get the quest from person A to go to location B, kill monster C, get item D from its corpse and return item D to NPC A for a reward E.

Hm, to set up quests like that you'll have to make extensive use of the javascripting engine in UOX3. To explain how to do that though would be a lot easier if you were a little familiar with it.
If you're not, I suggest opening the UOX3 JS Documentation in one window, jse_fileassociations.scp in notepad, and then take a look at some of the scripts in the uox3/js/ folder - all-the-while comparing what you find to the Javascript documentation =)
A suggestion for where to start on your quest-thing though, would be with the onSpeech event, since you could activate the quest with the NPC using a certain keyword, for instance.

Well, for starters, you could try giwo's Kill Task/Bounty Hunter-script. When added to an NPC, that NPC will give out missions like... kill 5 orcs, 5 liches, mongbats, etc - and when the player has done so and returns to the NPC they'll be rewarded with gold, and get a more difficult mission.
Shows a little of what is possible =) By imaginative use of the JS events, it should be relatively easy to setup other types of quests, such as fed-ex quests where you take an item from one NPC to another, either through keywords or by dropping the item on the destination NPC, recovering certain items from dungeons or whatever else you can come up with =P

I highly recoomend Giwo's quest for single player.
If you run a shard with more than one player, I suggest try DMing (or GMing) your own quests.
Come up with plots/stories on your own, set up the adventure, and have fun.
There currently are functions that will allow you to make NPCs walk, run, and attack. You can also add and remove karma/fame from players. I will be adding some more tools later. A creative use of these scripts can make pretty entertaining in-depth multiplayer quests.

Have no fear,
I've got two fairly simple GM-based quest ideas that I will post.
I'll also post the worldfile with the quests already "set up" so the person can load it on a seperate UOx3 directory and check out how it works.
Both will be story based quests, one does contain some hack & slash the other more investigative work.
It's geared towards the "quest of the avatar" and involves grey-areas between justice-honor-compassion and sacrifice.
Should be entertaining....I hope....
