Hey all,
PLayed UO for about 6 years straight. Have not touched it for years!....
Until now! I have just discoverd UOX and would like to setup a server for myself and my frieds to play on.
So, I have downloaded the latest version, 98.3.7 as a first step. Configuring the basics looks easy, and I will be fine to setup port forwarding, etc for access from the internet to the server.
What I do need help with is the world file. I'm not to keen on spending 100's of hours. I'm more liking the idea of miporting a pre populated world with npc's, monsters, quests, itmes, etc so we are just ready to play! Is there anything like this available for download, and can anyone offer some advice to a new uox member?
Cheers, Adam.

First off, delete UOX3.
Then, redownload UOX3 (experimental build)
. This version is much more up-to-date, and will save you a lot of head-aches compared to using the 0.98-3.7 release version from the downloads page. (Yes, we should probably update it. I know
After this, go back to the download page, and click on the links called Community-made Spawn.dfn and Default UOX3 Worldfiles v0.15.
Those are spawnfiles and decorationfiles, which when used will both populate your server with shopkeepers, mobs and random NPCs - and with doors, signs and decorations in general. The default world files should be unzipped directly into your UOX3/SHARED/ folder, and will thus overwrite any existing worldfiles - so make sure you do that first thing if you intend to use them.
