Leatherworking...how does it work?

Post by stranf »

I have noticed that my GM tailor can't make studded equipment worth a darn. Out of 50 hides I could only make 2 studded sleeves with no quality, and a weak item studded gloves.

This makes leatherworking as an economic class worthless, as one would have to amass a large about of heavy leather hides with the hope of creating one studded outfit (which would take hours).

Is this a bug, or am I missing another skill?

I just thought that I would edit this post so that the front page would show the latest post as May 9th instead of April 8th...

I think I'll reply to this post just so that the newest post on the front page says May 9th instead of April.... It was getting kind of sad logging into UOx3.org and seeing no change for the past month..

With UO nowadays you cut hides into leather pieces, looks like a cut cloth piece just dyed to look ... leathery. These are much lighter and easier to use (and leatherworking is just a part of tailoring not seperate). To make GM stamped Studded Armour consistently you need a Tailoring +20 power scroll. Surely there's a variable which can be adjusted to allow for a slightly lesser skill level.
