After reading a warning on a different forum about upgrading to UO client version 6.0.1.7, I promptly ignored the warning and upgraded, just to see what would happen.
Login is still possible, but the client is now very prone to freezes and lockups (for instance when adding something from the ADD-menu), and might have other unforseen (and as of yet undiscovered) effects on gameplay.
Bottom-line: Hold the client upgrades to 6.0.1.7 for a while.

I found that my 5.0.1h still works perfectly with UOx3. Is there anything in the newer clients that I should upgrade for? Basically I upgraded to the avatar armor/dragon armor and quit.
Latest CVS version includes fix for client versions above 6.0.1.7, as per giwo's post today. Should also work with the client versions older than 6.0.1.7.
There is no actual .exe file to download from the CVS. You'll have to download the source using a CVS client (following instructions in the Coder's Corner-forum) and compile a new version yourself.
Or you can wait until Grimson updates the experimental builds-download, or until we release another "official" uox3 version. No ETA on that though.
Just a note to those who get to this thread from the frontpage... both the CVS & experimental build now supports the latest 2D clients - though neither UOG nor ConnectUO does, so use UO-RICE or Razor for your encryption-removal needs in case you update your client.
