Connection issues

Post by Blacklight »

Am I right to assume that the current up to date version of the UO client does not work with UOX3 ? I'm using Razor to connect and it connects and then drops before login. I have no problem logging into RunUO servers with it but I like working with UOX a lot better (It's a LOT easier to configure and work with in my opinion).
Is this just a matter of me just re-installing an old version of UO ?

Howdy!

That is correct.

The latest version of the client that works with uox3 regular release is I believe in the 5x range. With the experimental build you can get upwards of the 6.1 range I believe or 6.0.

In either case if you can snag an older version of the client, you should be fine. We're currently looking into the encryption and packeting to fix it so that clients can continue to connect without any issues.

While we can't post any clients, you may find some on some player run shards that have a backup of it for safe keeping. So while I'd like to tell you to look at my sig and visit my site and then the downloads section, I really can't.

Beyond that, Krioss's client (PlayUO) also works well with the latest uox3 builds.

Have you read the installation documentation?

Thanks ! I certainly won't check out the site in your sig. :D

I think it's awesome that you guys are doing this stuff. These projects are going to save UO from extinction when eventually EA decides to drop it. UO is one of the best MMORPG's out there. No other MMORPG allows you to do ANYWHERE NEAR as much stuff as you can do in UO.

I mean.. name another MMO where you can set up a bunch of tables and chairs in a dungeon and have a bake sale with your guild ! :D

Also, I'd like to say that UOX has the absolute best documentation out of all the server emulators I've tried. It's certainly the easiest one that I've found to configure and set up.
