Return to Britannia & New Client (4.0.6a)

Post by giwo »

For any interested former UO players, OSI is doing a short-term free-play promotion allowing former account holders in good standing to simply start playing again (without re-activation or anything of that sort).

http://www.uo.com/return.html

On a related note, OSI released a client patch yesterday, 4.0.6a I believe it was.

This client has caused significant crashing for me on a Player run Server (every time I typed, actually)

Aside from my own experience, reports have come in that this client disables the use of verdata.mul (IE custom additions). Thus I'd reccomend staying away from it if at all possible.

The problem with client crashing has apparently been fixed in the latest version of UOGateway ( http://www.uogateway.com ), though it's still true what you said about verdata.mul no longer being used :|

Custom additions are still possible through patches/modifications to the specific .mul files (art.mul, etc) though, which is possible to do through UOGateway.
