Player-to-Admin Accts Crashing The Game!

Post by ormlyr1987 »

Ok, so my friends and I are attempting a joint effort in the populating of a shard. Basically, I just want to make them GM's so they can help me spawn/populate the world. Here is my problem:

- Admin(me) logs into shard.
- Friend logs into shard.
- Admin uses command ('make gm) on Friend's character. Everything seems to work fine.
- When Friend leaves shard, Friend cannot re-join shard. Admin can keep logging/re-joining shard with no problem.

So, my next step was to re-boot the UOX server...no luck. Then, I figured I might as well re-start the server itself...no luck. So finally, I just took a backup I made of the entire UOX folder and wrote over the old (broken) one. This seems to fix my problem. If I perform the previous steps (PC to GM), this same problem occurs.

Admin(me) is running client on the same machine that is running the server.

Any ideas?

Hmmm...when I first posted, my friends were using UO-RICE. I told them to switch to Razor (latest version) and they can now login. Still, I enjoy UO-RICE more than Razor...it has given me fewer problems.

Strange.

Solved! (kinda...)

Might depend on how UO-RICE's method of encryption removal differs from that of Razor, I guess.
