PCs as grey?

Post by stranf »

Is there anyway for a gm to set a PC as grey?

Not just flagging him criminal, but grey.

So that another PC or NPC (controlled by GM) could attack a target PC without the guards (or similar AI'ed npcs) nearby coming to the rescue?

Thanks

Won't changing a character's status to criminal also make him grey? I thought the two were connected.

I found a way to get around it (I haven't tried on PCs yet).

1st: set all NPC flags to "neutral" (this makes them grey)
2nd: Use Xuri's xattack script and comment out "set myobject.criminal" or whatever it is.

Then you can attack and other NPCs won't defend.

Not sure if it will work against PCs yet, as PCs are, by default, blue and therefore if the criminal flag is hardcoded all bets are off.

And Xuri, you can still be "grey" and not "criminal". Criminal means "gaurd type" AIs will automatically hunt you. "grey" means you can be attacked and the "guard type" AI's won't hunt YOU down for fighting the "neutral" flag. (this way guards won't kill rats in town, but they won't kill you if you kill a rat!)
