Live Public UOX3 Server Test This Weekend

Post by UOGrimm »

This weekend (starting Friday morning), I'm going to need to make my shard public, so that I can go install UO and Razor at another house, and see what the lag is like. If it doesn't munch on my PC's resources too heavily, I'll leave it running all weekend long. I welcome the UOX3 community to help test for lag and bugs. Auto account creation will be enabled. Vanilla shard, decorated and spawned with community files.

Server: uox3.servegame.com Port: 2593

The shard name is Default Server. If you see Test Server, you can't log in.

I hope to soon find out where I can host something like this in an actual professional environment, and how much it costs. This would allow for smooth connections. It would also allow server developers, world-builders and players to test features and hunt bugs on a persistent test shard!

What client is your server running?

I'm 5.xx.h or something like that (I know a bit old, but I saw no reason to upgrade)

If I get time, I'll try to log in and help you out a bit, but no promises!!

Stranf, sorry if it seemed like I never answered your above reply. I actually did post an answer, and saw it posted, but now that answer is gone. (Though I can't think of anything that might have been construed as objectionable, and no reason, warning or complaint has been received from Xuri or giwo.)

The gist of my answer was that I'm running my server with the most recent (6.0.13.0) client, because I still play on EA/Mythic-Bioware's official service.

This could change if I learn that an older client is more compatible with UOX3-- I could set up a separate client directory...I have read there's a method for doing that.

But I also commented on how this has fixed, for me, the crashing issues recently reported being associated with skill gump usage. So in that sense, it would seem, the most recent client is the most compatible with UOX3.

No posts have been deleted in quite some time, so I'm not sure what happened to the post of yours. Are you sure you actually posted it and didn't just see it previewed?

Xuri,

did the forum server "hiccup"?

I saw the original post as well. It seems all of our June posts got wiped. If you look at all the forums, all of the latest posts are from May 2009. We lost a months worth of material --luckily for us, June has been relatively quiet.

Xuri, you even posted to this thread and asked if the server was still up. That post was removed too.

The question is...is the server still up? I wouldn't mind attempting to log in -even with my older client- and see what happens.
