Connecting other players

my father and I have been trying to connect to each others servers for awhile now with no luck. I think we have tried everything with no luck. We are both running latest versions of uox and rasor and various versions of uo. we also both have DSL and have done port forwarding and have double checked IP address over and over agian. any ideas or help would be greatly apprectiated. thanks in advance
