Spawning reagents

I'm thinking I might be doing this the hard way. I'm spawning reagents, and the way I'm doing it now is item spawning reagents out in some fields. However this is fairly time consuming to do one reagent at a time. I tried some 'set amount to try to spawn mulitple reagents at once...such as npcs do. No dice. I looked at creating my own dfn but it doesn't look at first glance like that will work out very well.

Any ideas or suggestions on the best way to spawn multiple reagents?

-Side note, I'd do it all in my backpack then dupe, spreading them around the countryside like a merry santa clause, however duping seems to break the spawner...probably thinks it's still a pillow.

Have a look at the spawn.dfn viewtopic.php?t=512 it's the way to go for general landscape spawns.

Note: The objects spawned by the dfn aren't save so it takes a while, after the server has been started, for the regions to populate with multiple spawns. You can speed it up by using the "regspawn all" command multiple times.

A bonus effect of using the regional spawners (spawn.dfn) is of course that, as Grimson said, the objects aren't saved - so it doesn't affect worldsave-times.

You could spawn a million NPCs and a million items through regional spawners and it still wouldn't affect your worldsave-times directly.

Working like a charm- I don't even know if I'll use spawners anymore- they seem to be for suckers...!
