Make sure you are using a recent client with UOGateway 1.9.1265.

Also ensure that you are putting in the account name and password exactly as it appears in accounts.adm (in the /accounts/ folder) and please remember it is cAsE sEnSiTiVe. Also check for any trailing spaces after the entry.

1) Did you reload accounts or start UOX after editing accounts.adm?

2) Are you using UOX3 v0.98-2.8b (Available in the thread at the top of this forum)?

3) Did you ensure that you have the IP properly set in UOX.ini and in the UOGateway shard setup?

4) Some other question that would possibly solve all lifes troubles goes here....

Hmm, is there a subdirectory of /accounts/ that is named after the username you are trying to use?

If so, delete it, and see if that helps :)

Make a new account entry, or change the admin admin one to whatever you want your name and pass to be.

I just tested doing so, and it works fine here :)

Start from scratch again =)

1. Download UOX3, unzip to a fresh folder.
2. Edit UOX.ini, insert correct IP and port (127.0.0.1,2953 if local computer, i.e. server & client on same computer).
3. In the same file, make sure to change the filepath for the DATAFOLDER, which should point to your UO folder, or a folder containing all the .MUL files UOX3 needs. That should be map0.mul, statics0.mul, staidx0.mul, tiledata.mul, multi.mul, multi.idx
3. Edit accounts.adm, edit account name & pass for FIRST account in file.
4. Start up UOX3.
5. Startup UOGateway, create a new local shard in the shardlist, set UOG to remove encryption. Start up the UO client through UOG, try login.

Could you please copy & paste the [play server list] section of your UOX.INI file here, as well as the entire first section of accounts.adm? Change the username and password to something temporary if you wish, before pasting it here.

Also - which version of the UO Client are you using?

*grins*

Those //'s are called comments, and they basically render the entry useless.

Edit the next entry under that, if one exists. Otherwise, remove the //'s and then change the info, see if that works.
