Multi player

Post by Natas »

Ok Xuri I started a new topic b/c that other one was getting clutered. :)

So I'm trying to get my friend to con to my server

SO I set up my .ini file like you said. And got my ip-address. And set it up in uog. But when I type in my account name and pass word it gets stuck at connecting. And I have to close the client down in the task manager. I also set up my login.cfg flie to match my IP. (was that neccecarry or not?) I figured it was... seeing as how uox has to know what server to login to. And I am using dail up with Earthlink btw. I am not aware of a firewall on my computer. So I am just lost... hehe

Thanks

A few things:

Can you paste the [play server list] section of your UOX.INI file in a reply here please? And then go to http://www.whatsmyip.com and copy & paste that IP-address in the same reply here :)

Editing login.cfg is not necessary when you're using UOGateway, since you enter the IP-address in the local server setup there, and UOGateway automatically configures the client to use the IP specified there when it launches it.

:) Let me know how the testing goes.

Alternatively, you could try sending your friend your UOX3 folder and let him run on the exact same setup, and see if the server crashes with him as well.

WOW! this is awsome. This is the first time I have got it to work with multi player! Everything went good! Teleports work and everything. So I guess it is my computer. :( heh but I don't really need the teleports for myself so all is well I guess. Oh btw is there a way of finding out which item is causing the bad length? Cuz it just lagged up the whole game a min ago and had to restart the server. :(

Hm. It's usually somewhere in the area where the players are walking.. so I guess you could try to do a 'WIPE around the area which you think contain the corrupted multi, and see if you manage to remove it by a lucky shot in the dark :/

Other than that I don't know, apart from starting over, of course..
