vendor trouble....no buy ability

I have populated my world with the dfndata.zip file which adds NPCs through the spawning system, however I can not get my vendors to sell me anything, when I hit buy nothing happens. Can anyone help me out?

Try saying "vendor buy" to them. There is a known bug with the vendors in the current release, which has been addressed for the next version (available on the CVS if you are able to download the source & compile for yourself) which may hinder you from seeing the menus properly in any case though.
