I'm going to set up an excel spreadsheet to calculate the various damage a player would incur on a specfic NPC.
What I can't find, and I can't even find it on official UO sites, is how damage and to hit values are calculated.
Could someone familiar with the C++ code to some of the following:
--Post, I'm, or send me a link to the lines of code that deal with damage calculation and toHit. Also, how armor DEF and monster DEF values are calculated.
My potential spreadsheet could even display not only the percentage to hit a specific area but the damage based on that armor location.
and another question while I'm on the subject: Is there a way to adjust monster attack speeds? So monsters like a snake can attack fast, while a lumbering troll will be slower? I see a spDelay tag in the .dfn but not an attackdelay.
Thanks! It's just tough to adjust .dfn values of monsters to make my shard people happy when I can't even find an archived post on how combat actually ticks in Uox3.
Combat damage calculator
I have a crude spreadsheet that figures out combat damage and weapon speed based on the new formulas Grimson has added to the experimental Uox3 build.
I find this build to be much more flexible in allowing GMs the option of balancing play and makes PvM combat more enjoyable.
If anyone wishes to take a look at the spreadsheet please PM me. I also plan on including it with the next iteration of my worldfile.
Thanks everyone!
