UPDATE 14/10/2025: Attached here is an (updated) "unreleased" update to WB that adds (better) support for Win 8/10/11 and ClassicUO, and has some other small improvements and additions like faster/better House Templates feature, experimental Item Explorer menu section. Note that this still requires the full previous WB 0.23 installation from below to work; just unzip the update into your WB 0.23 installation folder and run "WorldBuilder2025.exe" instead of the regular one.

Yay, the official release of WorldBuilder 0.23 is here. Only 6 1/2 years after the previous release. *pats self on back*

This version doesn't differ much from the preview version I posted...uh...more than two years ago, other than some very small fixes which makes it work (somewhat) in Vista, and a new and improved installer which should now hopefully include all the necessary files to run this ol'e thing.

I suspect that some part of it will cease to work with the most recent client versions (automatic retrieval of coordinates, for one thing - at least according to various stuff I've read) but it seems to work fine in 5.0.8.4 :P

(For those of you who have no idea what WorldBuilder is, it's a combined ingame worldbuilding utility (constructing houses, decorating your world, etc) and GM Tool (similar to CGMT/ShardAce of old, easy access to most commands and many features of UOX3). Also check out the JavaScript edition of WB!)

NOTE: To enable WB to send commands to the client in Windows 7, you might have to run WB in XP-compability mode.

The changelog:

Awesome Xu!!!

I'm going to upgrade as soon as I can.

One request though (maybe you can implement this in another 6 years???)

Have a tab in the "Item" section and NPC section marked "dfn". This DFN section would have sections that correspond to the loaded DFNs in UOx3. That way, every weapon and NPC that are custom can be smoothly added using worldbuilder instead of the clunky 'add menu. Heck, even the add menu dosen't have the custom content.

No complaints so far on world builder now, just a suggestion for the future. Thanks!

That last feature isn't needed so you can leave it blank :)

Back in the day we had UO Gateway which no longer exists. Then there were things like Rice, Nocrypt, Ignition, etc.

Er.

So what is the actual problem then.
Are you unable to build with world builder, e.g. you click add tile or whatever, but the tiles don't appear via the client?

IF I TRY TO ADD A NPC IF I REMEMBER RIGHT IT TELLS ME TO START MY UO CLIENT OR IF I TRY TO CONFIGURE IT IT STATES THE SAME THING

You need to calibrate WB to match the client. You do this in the configuration window in WB like this:

1. Log onto your UOX3 shard
2. Use 'WHERE to get your current in-game location (X Y and Z, three first values you get from the 'WHERE command)
3. Input (without moving on the client) the three X, Y and Z coordinates into WB and hit the "Calibrate" button.

Hopefully that still works ;P

ok i callibrate and it tells me callibration succefful and then i save. I go and try to add npcs and it tells me to activate uo client before issuing any commands. I have my setup done right everything is going to the correct paths. What else could be wrong.

Which client version are you using?

Make sure you do not have "Use 3D client" enabled if you're not using the old UO Third Dawn 3D client (which you likely aren't).

no I'm using 5.0.6 2d razor versions. I can get it to calibrate it just doesn't stay calibrated for some reason.
