Custom DFN: Rings of Illusion - Animals

I started creating some custom dfn files. When you equip these rings you will morph into the animal listed on the ring. These are not charged rings so the effect never goes away. I've tested a few of these but not all. Let me know if any rings give you problems. I've tested: bears, deer, wolf.

If you want to give some use to the Item Identification skill, you can also do something like this:

Code: Select all

[illusionring1]
{
get=base_item
name=a magical ring
name2=ring of illusion [aligator]
id=0x108a
type=101
morex=202
weight=100
decay=1
}
This way the name of the ring will be just "a magical ring" until it has been identified as "ring of illusion [aligator]".

I was under the impression that the Item Identification skill is not implemented or is not working correctly on UOX3 yet. Has it been fixed?

In the latest experimental build it should be working for the names - though it might not (as dragon slayer mentioned in this post) hide stats etc while it remains un-identified.

Cool :)

I've been using 4.0-h and have not moved over to 4.0-i yet. Might do that today. I know in 4.0-h item identification does not work so it is good to hear that it has be fixed.

There was a couple errors when I first loaded the 4.0i but that was where Xuri typed int instead of var and forgot a missing )

Once I typed those in and saved the javascript it seemed to fix that error.
