Finally managed to fix the Visual Confirmation on user-registration, so I can turn off having to activate each user manually, since new users now have to type in some random letters/numbers from a image that shows up when registering.
Also applied another small trick to the registration page, which should stop any bots which by some magic or other manage to interpret the image correctly
Had several of the subforums set to public instead of registered, which allowed guests to post there Also modified registration forum so that the form the bots submit when they attempt to register will be WRONG (muhahaha) so - hopefully no more non-validated spambot users in the memberlist ;P
Then I modified registration so that it also stores the IP, from which a member gets registered, and found one company that seems to run most of those bots. Their IP range is: 217.10.32.1 to 217.10.47.255, since banning those IPs I get no more fake members.
Xuri usually nailed them pretty quick. But once in a while you'd see a user register only to post links to porn sites and other such wonderful treasures. Usually they would do so on every single forum they were able to, and continually do so until the hole was fixed.
