Trying to figure out how to get UOAssist to work with UOX3. Using UOGateway to remove the encryption, but UOA says it needs to start the client for it to work. Any tips?

No idea how to make UOAssist work, but you could try out
Razor instead. Similar program, but written for usage on free shards instead of the official ones.

I would try using razor with uogateway it does the same function as uoassist and works well with uogateway
Why is there air?

Alas, Uogateway is horribly out of date, and I don't think it's usable any longer with recent client versions.
