Abou my (a bit on-going) absence

Post by Grimson »

Ok, I feel I should explain why I'm currently not doing anything around here. A few weeks ago I catched an here unknown illness that causes symptoms similiar to a pneumonia, so the doctor though it was a pneumonia and I got treated with the wrong medicines. This caused more damage to my lungs, so I was, and I still am, in major pain :(.

The good news is, that I'm currently recovering and it will fully heal :). But that's gonna take a little bit more time and then I'll first have to get my normal life and job back on track before I can start to spend as much time on UOX3 as I did earlier.

I will follow the forums and the development. I'll also try to throw in some smaller fixes here and there, but don't expect too much from me over the next few weeks.

Sorry.

Sorry to hear, Grimson :(

But have no worries about UOX3 - projects like this should come far down on the list of stuff to prioritize, as it's just a hobby for us all, and "real life" issues are FAR more important. Hope you'll have a speedy recovery!

Ouch.... Sorry to hear that man.

Since there haven't been an expirimental CVS updates, I figured you were busy with finals and school like most everyone else around here. Sorry to hear about the illness, and glad to hear you will fully heal!

Good luck! Maybe while you recover you will have some time to actually PLAY UOx3 instead of de-bug it! (It actually is becoming a very venerable roleplaying platform right now. Lots of fun! Kudos to everyone)

Sad to hear about the health troubles, Grimson, we've missed you for sure.

As Xuri mentioned; UOX3 is one of those things we all do for fun (I hope), while it's great when people have time to contribute and participate in the community, absences (even lengthy ones) need no excuse. :P

I myself have been out of touch lately as I just started a new job which has roughly a 3hr commute, leaving me no desire to do much beyond sleeping and eating.

The beauty of the community, as it stands, is we can afford to be relaxed. There are no set release dates, only a small amount of users needing support, and most notably, we have no troublemakers (aside from perhaps those pesky russian ladies Xuri is always fending off). UOX3, like many long-running open source projects simply continues to exist, following the ebb-and-flow of it's contributers lives.

Anyhow, we look forrward to your recovery, and hopefully by the time you are back in the saddle, I will be living a bit closer to my work. ;)
