hello uox3,
i've been away for awhile due to real life complications but back now and wanted to get back into the uox3 community. i've been browsing some old uox websites using archive.org and noticed the use of a program called dragon, which enabled the generation of custom maps. is dragon still compatible with current uox3 and if so, has anyone used it? basically, i don't want to use the default uo maps and i want to create custom continents with custom dungeons, towns, etc. also wanted a list of sites to read more about the process of custom map making. i appreciate any advice.

I've never used dragon myself so can't say anything about that.
A couple of links worth checking into:
CentrED - CentrED is a client/server-based map editor which allows you to modify both map and statics with potentially multiple people working on the map at the same time.
Ryandor's forums - Oldie, not active any longer, but an incredible resource for anything map-editing related.

thanks for the links. ryandor's forum looks helpful and many good reads. i was curious however what was your approach when creating norwegian wood? from your experience in custom maps do you recommend any specific programs or methods?
on a side note, i've been reading your guru meditation error blog. having finished telltale's walking dead game recently myself, thought it was an amazing game series.. alot of tough ingame choices

What I did for NW is not recommended, as it was extremely time-consuming. The map I made was created by hand tile-for-tile. All transitions between different terrain, all riverbanks, all mountains - everything done slowly and methodically through WorldForge. It took so much time that I never actually finished it ;P
Doing the same through something like CentrED with multiple people might be quicker, but I'd still suggest making the base terrain using something like dragon (or similar programs, if you can find those) and then use CentrED (or even WorldForge) to do the polish.
