Hello UOX3 community,
I created an account in late November, but I haven't had a chance to mess around with UOX3 yet. Using this post to greet the community and say that I look forward to this experience; as I've never messed with server emulation in the past.
I've been reading over the forum threads and I've noticed a lot of new users expect OSI-like world files. I'm not one of those users and like how I could use UOX3 to create custom content. I'm in my 30's and haven't messed with Ultima Online since 1997-1998, but after reading some posts from the developers on this project; I think some of us are more interested in custom than OSI-like and I think I'm going to like it here.
I have some background in C++ but I've never messed with Javascript; something I plan to delve into soon. I do know of other Ultima Online Emulators, but I like how UOX3 is simplistic to install and I'm not too concerned with the absence of the newer skills like Ninjitsu because they weren't implemented when I shelled out money to OSI.
I'm not much of a forum poster. I like staying in the shadows and usually ask questions through forum private messages or IRC.
Anyways, I just wanted to give everyone a greet and I hope to contribute something meaningful to this project and meet new friends along the way.
