Offline for a Few Days

Post by giwo »

My internet service is getting "bumped" to 50$ a month (twice what I'm paying now) and thus I must switch to a different service.

I should be back on the 1st of Feb (that's when my DSL will start up), so only a week... hopefully ;)

Anyhow, I should still be around somewhat (as I have net access at work, when I'm not busy), and I hope to get some time to hop back on the source (though this class has been hogging most of my time, recently).

Anyhow, hope everyone is having an enjoyable new year so far. :)

So, umm...

Yeah, I'm back :)

You can all start breathing again

*grins*

Of course, I'm still quite busy, so I'm only here in the same capacity I have been the past couple weeks..... Astute observer (aren't we all?)

Heh heh =) Welcome back, giwo ;) And thanks for the replies, Maarc =D

I'm almost done updating my UOX3 Guide for versions 0.98.x and hopefully above, and I'll probably release a new version of WorldBuilder soon as well. It has after all been more than 3 years since the last release ;)

WB still in VB? I've been working on an app recently, learning C# some more, so fun and games all around. Still haven't gotten around to writing some small games like I wanted, or finishing any of the animations I've been working on.

Ho hum!

What's the issue? I can try and have a look at it, if you want.

Code: Select all

 If Not myFSO.FileExists(serverdata.UOXPath & "items.wsc") Then
MsgBox "Items.wsc does not exist, please check your path!"
        Exit Sub
    End If
    If Not myFSO.FileExists(serverdata.UOXPath & "chars.wsc") Then
MsgBox "Items.wsc does not exist, please check your path!"
        Exit Sub
    End If
WB only reads oldschool UOX3 worldfiles, and I don't know how to make it read the new worldfiles =P Your code... hehe... ;)

Hmmm, yup, that looks like my code alright, even down to the typo! (It should say Chars.wsc does not exist on the second one ;))

If you want, zip up your current code and send it on over, and I'll take a look at it, see if I can't get it up to snuff. I don't have VB6 installed any more, but I do have it on CD here, but it should be okay.

OK, got it, but it might take a day or so to look at it, I've got to get something else done here as well. But I've had a quick glance over it, and I think I can figure out a way to do it. The easiest thing to do, at least in helping, would be to get UOX to dump out some stats on a world save (count of chars, items, and multis). If we do that, then it makes the load routine much easier.

But it might take a day or two before I can really get into it.
