Hey there Xu, I tried to connect to the chat room from work today using your IRC-Chat link on the front page, and instead got a "Not Found" error.
After one puts in their nickname, it takes you to this page
https://www.uox3.org/cgi-bin/uox3chat/irc.cgi
Which aparrantly no longer exists.

Yeah I know.. apparently using a cgi script like that wasn't allowed by the webhosts, so it had to be removed. What they did, was BAN my user account, then sent me an e-mail telling me the account would remain banned until I fixed the problem. *chuckles*
Good thing Sydius was able to remove the "rogue files" and get them to unban my account, or I'd be banned still. ;P

bahahahahaha.....
There are ones that run out of js, or was it not the "cgi" that was the problem so much as the IRC chat?

I think it was the .cgi script. *shrug*
Get Opera, it has a built in IRC client :>

The problem probably is that the cgi script uses the machines ip address rather than that of the users to connect to IRC, which could be open to abuse. They'd probably allow you to use a java client. Something like
http://www.pjirc.com http://www.jpilot.com is pretty decent and free and doesn't require server side scripting.
