As a waring to the community please let it be known that is it unwise to get into any business projects, or otherwise with this guy. After a number of very unprofessional dealing with this individual, it has come apparent that I need to notify the community and warn you to keep an eye out for him. After several failed projects as well as constantly having to deal with being told about his willingness to "commit suicide" or "seeing as I am suicidle" over my game not being done" that its to much of a burden for anyone to carry as I have tried a number of times especially for free or the little he pays you. It makes me stupid but I was making and going to make for him at 20$ a day his game, just I guess it wasn't fast enough for him. 20$ a day, learn a lesson here don't help a friend becuaes no matter what they will take you(exceptions apply hope it applies to the reader). Anyone that has spent 20 years dreaming about something, wrapping their so called livelyhood into it, and never doing anything about it except wine and complain about someone else not doing it for him then harrases others about commiting suicide is in my opinion a looser. How can it be someone elses fault that you yourself can't take the initatiive to get what you need done. Take some responsibilty for yourself at some point as your the only common denominator in all your failures.
I have heard/seen from this guy how over 20 projects over the years have never been completed or he was ripped off by someone else. His attitude is why he gets ripped off or people walk out he just is unable to realize it. No matter who you are, or what profession you are in this guy is sure he knows everything about anything and that no matter what you do he is always right. Case in point he paid some poor guy over seas 60$ USD to make him a complete network core(had to be worth at least 500$), as well as a mud functional application that he could use to continue his mud work. All he ever did was complain that it wasn't what he asked for , or didn't work or was bloated(because it was broken up into more files than he thought it should be, while it was logical broken up as any program should be). In short the poor guy that did the work for him did an awesome job. However after going over it for him because he asked me too, wasting 3-4 hours my time to go "I know that(if ya did you wouldnt have asked)". and honestly it is some of the better linux networkign code I have seen. All he can do since getting the network core is bitch to whoever will listen that he was ripped off. When told how to use it like he requested he just goes off into his own little world like you are some kind of idiot going "you didnt look at it well enough then". I saw more in that code in the 15 minutes I looked at it than the whole time he has wined about the code. Trust me anyone could take and use the code he was given put it to good use and get started right away making their mud, thats just how good this code was. What does someone want for 60$?. The only short falling with this code was Norfic's inability to do anythign with it or even understand basic coding enough to make use of it. Anyone else would have been done already any mud project they started with this code I am speaking about.
If your going to do anything with this fellow make sure that you have your guilt rain coat out because it will fly from all directions. If there is anyone out there that is into feeling sorry for someone you might want to hook up with this guy because you are right up his bag, and you will get along well with hiim. Plus he really needs it, otherwise he will never get his game done, and might just possibly kill himself( I mean judging by how often he had to make sure I knew that. be it morning noon or night).
I have to apologise for some for this post, however I just want to make sure that people understand what they are getting themselves into with this guy. I wish someone had of been there for me becuase I have wasted so much free time with this guy that should have gone to my kids or my family or even small dabbings of uox3( I will explain why I am not so focal with uox3 some other time for those that care). Xuri I do expect this post to stay here as people need to be warned about this guy. As it seems that most emu developers are beneath him, and will harras you to do things as cheap as he can becuase he assumes your a dead beat and that he is being all noble helping you out, when really all you do is get raked over some mental game, beat with threats of his wife not liking something etc... blah blah blah.. The only things he will do for you are the things he thinks he has to , to get you trapped into the project. I also recomend that if you do work for him that you hold all source code until the job is complete becuase soon as you give him anything that he can get someone else to work on for nothing you will be treated like shit, made to look like the bad guy and ridiculed. So if anything protect yourself at least and be aware.
Finally after 3 years trying to do as much for as little as I could for this guy, I come to the conclusion that all the mental stress and abuse that I had to endure because he wasn't happy with his life and I couldnt for 50 cents make all his dreams come true that any form of business with this fellow is a waste of your time as it was with mine. Now understand that I used to concider this guy a friend and while it sounds like I hate him I do not. He has tried to do somethings for me, however as I found out today they were only once again so he could have something over my head and demand things that he has no right to. What he found out quickly is that I do not need anything from him and that he had nothing over me to control. Soon as he realized that he was gone, canceling things, and generally being an ass.
Bottom line is that he still owes me money for projects he canceld because he either didn't understand, or would pull things like get you to work for a couple weeks, then becuase your not finished with his game in 3 weeks stops sending money, and starts cutting ties, and whatever bullshit that he can think of to control you. Not to mention all the head games he has to play on you and whoever else.
The project specifically so people know what I am talking about was for a fully operational top down(not isometric as he didn't want to pay what it would cost for that venture) graphical client, tile based with tools, at which at first he wanted a seperate tool that wasn't part of the client becuase of security reasons, when the tool is about 60% completed and just about usable for world building and such he plays some more head games and stopped sending payments going "why can't we just use a god client?" because you asked for security and wanted someting that wans't client based to handle administration just he decided when the time was right to screw me and change his mind. I guess for 400$ a month I was only supposed to take 2/3 months to complete this whole thing( so you know what I promised him was 4/5 hours a day I have free, mon through sat to make his game for him, when I told him that quite frankly in work related costs it would be about 1500$ for the client, and about 900-1000$ for a full client he agreed and I was to begin immeditly like I did. This is with source given upon completion with no encumberances. However at the 600$ mark he wiggs out, where 300 of that money was cash he OWED me for yet ANOTHER canceled project. Bottom like is that I never give source to anyone with out a contract, just because of peopel like this guy.
All in all I warn any of you that are concidering working with this guy to make sure at the very least you know what you are worth and make sure that he pays it. Otherwise you will be tossed into the "deadbeat emu developer pile" and allow him to exploit your skills for escentially nothing. I will leave all those choices obviously up to you. I only recomend that you understand what you are getting into with this guy if you are going to. Keep yourself well protected against his headgames and controlling nature. I mean even I am not as controlling as this guy is, and thats hard to believe.
Don't let yourself get held under the water by his games, get a contract, and make sure that you do no less than whats outlined in the contract or you will get used.
Sorry for being bitter, but after trying so hard to meet some middle ground with this guy it become to apparent that he is to mentally unstable to get much accomplished execpt buying websites that will never get anything more than his (c) line under them. I am bitter if you are wondering, not because I need the money or anything I am bitter because no matter what I have tried to make it work with this guy to the point that I was sacrificing my own time and obligations to help him. Whats sad is that I shouldnt have to sacrifice my time to make his reality for him. At what point is it some of his responsibility to sacrifice his time. Makes me wonder how he sleeps at night ripping honest people off to get his way. As many of us know sometimes sacrifice is how anyone ever gets anywhere. someting that he is unwilling or quitepossibly unable to understand or perform. He talks behind your back when it suits him trashing on you on one side then tries to come off like hes such a good upstanding person on the other. NOT! For the most part as the 20 unfinished projects indicate there is no working with this guy in any capacity unless you want to be bossed around and made to do the wrong things, and then expected after to do it right at your expense all because "he said so" beccaus he has read it in a book, a book he most likely never understood anyhow.
I am exceptionally relieved that he has no control over my life or that any of the talking behind my back has done any damage to me, as my professional life doesn't cross over here at all. Money, cards, whatever this man has nothing on me, nor over me, and that is what he dislikes most becuase he can't dictate to me how I should bend over and why. Like everyone else out there, put your money where your mouth is and stfu. something else he isn't able to do. Make sure as I have said over and over, protect yourself against this guy.
For the record should he ever actually want to complete any of the projects and get me the money that he owes me for finishing them I will happily and gladly give him all and any source related to the project(s). However somehow I know that it will never happen becuae no matter what you can't use me like he WAS using me. I let friendship get in the wy of that and tried to understand what his problem was, but now I know. No one is going to come out and do it all for him, like he expects. I guess he thinks eventually he will find someone that will feel sorry enough for him to just do it. Prolly just to get him stfu..
Bottom line is if you are going to engage in any business/hobby dealing with this guy you should think twice or at least know what your in for. I'm sure he will do his bbest as he already has to discredit my skills and abilities however makes no difference to me becuase I know what I can do , and some of you have seen what I can do. The rest doesn't matter as I still see my checks... Just keep your wits, and head about you, if you stop for a second he will use you as hard as he can then toss you to the side, and leave you with the attempt to make you feel ike your the reason..
