What would really be sweet was if the crystal balls actually were right with their prophecies. So I pondered a bit and noticed there's a "luck" stat. reading up on it, I have to say, I'm neither sure whether this is actually implemented and working in UOX, nor am I actually sure what it does.
But this could be the easy way out: when you get a positive message, raise luck on the user for a certain amount of time, for instance. On the other hand, if luck doesn't work, I could just do it with the three "normal" stats - This wouldnt be as cool, since those stats arent so "obscure" and players will quickly make the connection between ball and effect, and even if i was crafty enough to hide the system messages that tell you about the stat change, there is still the status screen. Same with luck, but at least over here, me and the few other players have no clue what luck actually does, so it stays a bit mystical
Something else I could think off would be to put "free" buffs or debuffs on the user. I havent looked at this at all, but this would only make sense if those actually lasted a bit longer. But this sounds doable.
Would there be any other (easy to pull off, since I'm still majorly clueless and only slowly learning) way to make prophecies more than they usually are, namely "empty promises"?
Any input appreciated.
