I was playing last night on a 3.4w build with Xuri's new 3.4 armor .dfn.
I faced a mounted Black knight, who had up to 120 tactics, 120 strength, 250hp, full black plate. I was wearing black chain with a viking sword. (as far as I know, armor color has no effect on DEF values)
The combat was boring, we were hitting each other for 1 to 2 points of damage and that was it. 8 minutes later I finally slew him, not because I was a master warrior but because I had bandages and he didn't.
Is this how OSI shards work? If I understand correctly, 1 point of DEF absorbes 1 point of damage. If so, I think it will be more balanced if we reduce all armor values by 10. It would have had this effect on my battle:
No armor: approx. 30 damage per hit.
leather: approx 20
chain/ring: approx 15
plate: approx 10
magic plate: 9-7-3-1 (using my magic scripts of +1, +3, +5, +7 armors)
The magic armors are intended to be very rare, so I think this would balance combat a bit more.
