I can only assume some of this occured because of Server Save. I have been having sporadic messages (Unknown message from client: 0xD6 - Ignored) which don't seem to have any real effect on gameplay (or they could be the explanation for the odd connection loss I have been having). Anyway this afternoon I was dragging scrolls from a container in my house when the World Save started - I knew I was not moving but I continued to drag scrolls anyway. When the save finished the client went black and then closed to a window with a new char with a semi-graphical name started in Yew. I logged out and then back in to find a new char which I had not created on the list so I deleted it and logged in on my normal char. This character was on screen for minutes and then the client closed - this happened several times until I logged out and went to check the server. I got the "Unknown message ..." text 10 times then the login/logout info then a Socket error: 10053.
I will reboot and try it again.
Logouts and error messages.

Hi, I am having a very similar experience as what you had in this post. I was wondering if you gave up or if were you able to get around it somehow. Any help is appreciated and thank you for your time.
Sincerely,

The message "Unknown message from client: 0xD6 - Ignored" is the default debug message from UOX3 when it receives an unfamiliar/unhandled network packet. Instead of just freaking out and throwing a fit because it can't recognize those packets, UOX3 tries to ignore them completely and just go on with life. In theory.
It's not necessarily (but I'm not ruling it out completely
related to the bug you describe.

it (that message) seems to happen anytime I (as a GM) dupe something or create something using the .add command and menu... it "seems" that when a friend of mine is in the game and he is duping a lot of stuff it aggrevates the server and sometimes it either locks up or starts scrolling error messages by fast... and you have to usually end the process or shut it down. but I am no expert....
