Weather not sync'd in clients?

Post by Mindless Automaton »

http://eldritch.darktech.org/rainsnow.jpg

My GM character is standing on the same space as the test character.

Also, when you stand next to a building or enter a building, the rain/snow stops altogether. :o

It'd be nice to be able to look out the window before those of us who melt when we get wet could see if its raining or not.

Unfortunately, it does this when you are in a cave (at least on the snow island) http://eldritch.darktech.org/raincave.jpg

Thanks!

Not sure about the weather synchronization across clients, but I'm pretty sure the "no weather inside buildings" is a feature :) You don't get sent the weatherpackets if your character is underneath roof-tiles, I think =P

Weather inside caves sounds like a bug though.

I guess maybe sync'd clients is not a good term to use maybe.

I mean in my GM client, it was snowing and in the PC client, it was raining. We were standing in the same spot.

I'd have thought the server sends the same weather to each client.

For building, I was thinking if you are standing by the under the roof, the rain would continue to fall, just not on the character, so you could stand next to a window or open door and see the rain falling.

I'll have to try out some balconies when it rains and see how they act.

Were you online with both your characters at the same time, or did you visit the same spot at different times? (weather can change)

I don't think it's possible to send weather to specific areas of the screen. It's either on/off.

Both characters were online and at the exact same coordinates. One had snow, the other had rain. :)

THats too bad you can't do like a blinding blizzard spell then :)
