Casting Agressive Spells in Town

Whenever I cast an aggressive spell within the protection of town guards, the spell does no damage, does not trigger me as a criminal.... Does anyone know how to fix this?

yeah its set that way in the scripts i can't remember where tho i think region.dfn and spell.dfn

In regions.dfn I see a couple tags....

Code: Select all

MAGICDAMAGE=1
and 
MAGICDAMAGE=0
However, I don't know which means what.... If I set MAGICDAMGE = 1, does that mean aggressive spells are allowed?

Okay.... I changed every single MAGICDAMAGE tag in the regions.dfn file to == 1..... And my damaging spells still don't seem to work inside town.

Is your character by any chance invulnerable? There are issues when trying to do combat with an invulnerable character. Try 'INVUL FALSE on yourself and see if your spells still do no damage.

Okay... I tried it and the problem still remains... I left town and it allowed me to hit myself, but not within town still... I even tried 'save and than reloading the whole server.... is there a tag in spells.dfn that needs changed as well?

Shouldn't have to change anything in spells.dfn, no.

Next attempt:
Shut down the server, then delete the regions.wsc file from the /SHARED/ folder (backup first, I guess). UOX3 should generate a new one on the next server startup.
