Combat exploit for killing NPCs

If two or more players attack the same NPC, and lead the NPC to a location where it'll be blocked in (either with the help of more characters, or by using items), and the last character to attack the NPC (and thus get targeted by said NPC) moves away, the first character who attacked the NPC can hit the NPC freely without the NPC hitting back at all.
Since the NPC can "see" his old target close by, it won't change targets unless attacked by a new character. But old characters who have already attacked the NPC earlier can continue hitting the NPC without causing it to change it's target.
This allows relatively easy takedown of almost any NPC in the game.

Confirmed in UOX3 0.98-4.0 using UO client 6.0.12.3.
Test-case:
Note: You need to players or two separate UO clients & accounts to test this, and one of the characters should have GM command privileges.
1. Login with two characters, in two separate UO clients
2. Character A should be a mage with the teleport spell handy (or a teleport scroll), Character B should be a fighter.
3. Find a suitable building with only one doorway (preferably without a door in it, for easier testing)
4. Make sure the guards are deactivated ('GUARDS OFF), or test in a non-guarded zone
5. Move both characters into the building
6. 'ADD NPC troll inside the building
7. Let Character B (the fighter) attack the troll first
8. Now let Character A (the mage) attack the troll so it changes focus
9. Move Character B to block the doorway, while still in combat mode so he will auto-attack the troll when it comes close
10. Character A should now use the teleport spell to teleport past Character B and out of the building, but stay within range
11. The troll will now attempt to move through the doorway, but be blocked by Character B - who will auto-attack the troll to death without the troll making any effort to defend itself, since Character A is still within range.
This method can be used to defeat any NPC in the game, whether the NPC uses melee or magic. This is actually smells to me like a rather serious exploit.

Another easy way of doing this is a group of players, where - after everyone has attacked the NPC once and are auto-hitting it, the last player who received focus from the NPC teleports past the rest of the group, using the other players to trap the NPC in place (against a wall, or surrounded by players/static objects, etc). They can then auto-attack the NPC until he's dead. The NPC will only change focus if someone specifically double-clicks to attack him again afterwards.
