I mean, UO..is it dead?
Its seems like the 2D client is going to die soon, and interest in UO long since peaked many cycles ago, and its just getting more and more difficult to keep up with things as they progress with KR.
That and it seems we as a community have gotten into that lull where real life takes hold and doesn't let go.
So I dunno, my interest in UO is starting to wane again.
Kid on the way, work, other things...where will it all go?
Is it dead?

I hear yah.
I WANT to finish my map but...am I gonna really play it?
Would I care if UO faded away? Probably not.
I dunno, I want to see UOX3 succeed, but don't care for UO itself anymore.

I'm still around.
I still have ideas, and I could technically make some time to code also. Instead, I choose to spend my available personal time (that is not already planned with the wife and new kid) to work on my project car. That's my new hobby at the moment.
Mainly because the player base on my shard has moved into some really difficult portions of their study (med school) and we generally only play once a month for 2 hours.
So I could script, but it is no fun to script if nobody will enjoy it.
I still have UO ready to go -better than ever- with three clients on virtual servers, GM tools, etc. I just need my players to have some time and say they want to play!
I wouldn't mind playing on Jedi's shard if he ever gets his custom map fixed. That reminds me, I still need to send him screenies of my custom buildings.

LOL hi Stranf.
I am actually calling it quits running a shard.
With a kid on the way, home improvement projects, some less than desireably turbulance at the job, a wife, and some other hobbies that I'm finding myself more intrested in, I never do have the urge to update the map anymore. Someday maybe, if someone were to get the mul2uop thing working and released already or if UO went into the FPS mode.
Otherwise, I like coding for it so that others can enjoy it while I contribute to something and learn for it.
On the other hand..now that I know a SWG emulator exists...
