Stuck at "connecting"

Post by benny78 »

Hi,

I got a new computer and installed windows 7 on it. I installed the latest Ultima online 2d client and updated the patches to the most recent version. I also downloaded and installed the most recent versions of UOX3 and Razor, and I made sure the configurations are correct. I am able to create the shard and account, I can select it form the shard list, but when I try to log in to where it would normally give me the character selection screen, the words "connecting..." come up and stay there indefinitely. I need to close the program in order to get any response.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks

Benny

Unfortunately UOX3 is not compatible with UO client versions higher than 6.0.13.x.

6.0.3.x is a lower client version than 6.0.13.x ;)

If your external ip keeps changing and you can't stop it from doing so, you'll likely need to use an external "DNS service" to point to your ip - for instance through http://www.dyndns.com/ - and have your players connect to that instead of your actual IP.

Example:
You've set up a free dynamic dns at dyndns.com named tephserver.dyndns.info, which then points to your internet-ip and will be updated to point at your new ip when it changes (based on a program you run on your computer, I think?).
