Gm Skills

Post by jasonntn »

Is there a command to max out all of my skills on my gm? I want to be able to get all his skills to 100 so i can check everything to make sure there are no bugs before I invite other ppl to my server.

Yep, there is. Try 'set allskills 1000 - that should set all your skills to 100.0.

UOx3 reacts to GMs differently than normal PC.

If you want to do a *real* test, you should 'set all skills 1000 on a PC and not a GM. There are certain strange things that GMs can do (which are nice) that normal PC's can't. IRC, most hard-coded skills are 100% successes as a GM despite your skill. GMs are also ignored by enemy AI, so don't expect to test combat.

It is easiest to create a PC on a non-GM account. Remember where your new PC spawned (inn in Britain is usually the easiest place).

Log into your GM account and find that PC. You will see him offline and invisible. Set his skills as 1000 using Xuri's posted command.

Log-out, then back in as the PC, and enjoy!

If you are really hardy, create a Virtual PC on your favorite VPC program, install UO and have your GM account loaded on the VPC computer.

That way if you get into a jam, you can easily hot-swap to the GM account without logging out and in. When I run roleplay quests, I usually have three clients up at once (one PC, two invisible GMs in different locations), to make the quests easier to go.

Another popular thing on my shard is to give (or temporarily give) certain GM powers to the PC. This might make your tests easier. Stuff like the "add" command and "set" command can easily be given to PCs for your test then taken away when you are ready to go public.

Enjoy! Ask any questions if you have them.
