Invisible items and crashes
Invisible items and crashes
Just started. Items won't show up if they're in any sort of container, but when I chopped up a brigand the items showed up. Also game crashes when ever I create a new character, kill a monster that has loot or try to create an item. I think it's all got something to do with that invisible item thing because if I kill something that doesn't have loot there's no problem
X3 version v0.98-4.0c it says in the window. I downloaded the all in one package just a few days ago but can't remember if it's world builder or that other hing.
Uo version 6.0.1.10 downloaded the trial a few days ago but didn't do patches.
Think it would clear up if I just got another version of uox?

Most of us are using the latest UOX3 release which is v0.98-4.0h-experimental. A link to the thread is below. I would suggest that you download that version.

Hmm. I'm using the following files:
- Mondain's Legacy Client (base install - no updates)
- I use Razor (I always let Razor search for updates)
- UOX3-4.0h-experimental
I play local machine and using the following post linked below, I can't reproduce the crashes you've described.. so I'll let Xuri help you.

Put something directly in my pack and it crashed with connection lost. Looked at the uox running and it had these two messages before the crash.
Unknown message from client 0xd6- ignored
Unknown message from client 0x-ff -ignored

All about items in containers. I waited this time after I killed something and it just lagged. Clicked on the corpse and showed up as empty box, dropped the clothes when I used a knife on it. It was an npc. It did crash both times I tried o put something in my inventory. I killed my pack and tries to create a skin for myself. It didn't crash this time just aborted cus I didn't have a pack. I get those two error messages just from moving things around but doesn't crash unless I try to put something in my pack. I can drop my weapon and it just gives me that Same error message and o can re arm with no problems at all.
Getting the same errors, with the experimental and non-experimental.
Use mondains leg, no updates, razor, and as mentioned, both emus give same error.
Won't display inv, and get dc when somethings placed there
*edit: Checked with runou as well, client works fine.

Not really sure what could be causing this if you're using UOX3 0.98-4.0 - either the release-version or the experimental version - and a client within the late 5/early 6-version range.
Try using ConnectUO instead of Razor, see what happens?
Other than that I can only suggest offering up as much detail as possible concerning version-numbers of both servers, clients, tools - and other software and/or operating systems that might shine some light on this.
