Would make the title of npc appear next to the name? For example:
Using...
Name = Xuri or Namelist = ####
Title = the banker
Would appear over the npc a name "Xuri, the Banker" or "<random name of namelist>, the banker".
Name and Title

Do you know how this works on the official shards? Or even worked, just prior to AoS expansion (combat/magic/NPC/Item-stats are based on UO just pre-AoS)? Usually we try to aim for something similar to how it was back then, while including additional options for those who want it different.

Unfortunately I don't know so exactly how do these things, but where I play, the shard is emulated by POL, and the definition of the npc would look like this ...
Example: NPC Carpinteiro (Carpenter)
NpcTemplate carpenter
{
Name <random>, o carpinteiro
script :oldai:merchant
elemento neutral
dificuldade 1
ObjType 0x190
Color 33784
TrueColor 33784
Gender 0
Strength 200
Intelligence 200
Dexterity 200
LIFE 200
MANA 200
STAM 200
Privs invul
Settings invul
...
...
}
Everything already is placed directly in the name of the npc where <random> corresponds to one of the names of a list of names, it would be more or less like this...
I don't know if that is what would like to know, but it's just that I know say about =/

On OSI its John the blacksmith
it takes there title and puts it up by there name.
if you do something like this maybe you should put in a on and off switch
so if people don't like to have that by the npc names
this only works for vendors. I think
