334
284 to 305 (284, 285, 286..., 305)
When I saw these phrases appearing in the first time until I found interesting, but at times they cause a pollution visual very large. I have put up "/ /" in front for no longer appear =/
I even think that if you leave these phrases could just change the phrases with number of 284 to 305, for appear only one phrase when the character took off a npc or damage very close to its maximum damage mentioned, for example.
"" character name "hit him a mortal blow" or "" character name "hit him a colossal blow", or something...
About the phrase 1281 "%s is attacking you!"
I think that should appear only when another player is attacking you. I not think it is necessary for to monsters as well. When many monsters appear at once, fills the screen with written.
Stay there suggestions.

In UOX.INI, check under [combat], there you should find the following setting:
DISPLAYHITMSG=1
Change that to 0, and the messages about "hit you in shoulder/head/groin" etc should stop.
As for your other concern, with the "X is attacking you!" messages, I see your point. I'll poke at it and see how difficult it would be to add an option to turn those off. Or maybe change them so you only see messages relating to yourself, so you won't see "X is attacking Y" when you're not the target. I'll get back to you on this.

Jeez, I looked there and it had not seen this option. LOL
I think I even noticed in combat, cause I thought that this option would be in another local, but not in combat.
But ok Xuri, thank you

Now I saw that here turn this option off, also turn off the numbers of the damage you receive and apply. I thought only shut down the sentences... damage must imperatively appear...

You're right. Both damage-numbers and hit-messages were using the same UOX.INI option to determine whether to show or not.
I've separated them out, so in the next version there will be
DISPLAYHITMSG=1/0
DISPLAYDAMAGENUMBERS=1/0
