Xuri, as you said shields it does not defense points, only blocked a few attacks. Would you put a phrase (SysMessage) to appear when the character does block a attack? For example "you blocked an attack of enemy."
I think it would be interesting, because then the player could see what time the shield and parry skill is helping him.
It's just a suggestion.
[IMPLEMENTED] Suggestion: New phrase of block attacks

Xuri Look, I do not know. In the shard I play, whenever the character defends an attack, appears as a phrase quoted above. There is no "special effect" represented this. And also the shields give points def / armor ...
Here in UOX3 I currently see no sentence or "special effect", and barely notice the difference that the shield provides, and that playing with parry to 100.0 (1000). So I mentioned that it would be nice to have the sentence or something to indicate that there you would have taken damage but thanks to skill and shield you blocked and lost no life.
Now the Dragon Slayer always says how things are OSI, could say how it works there.

GFX effect has been added to show when someone successfully blocks an attack with a shield & parrying skill, and a combat message is also displayed if DISPLAYHITMSG is enabled in UOX.INI. See https://www.uox3.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13218#p13218 for details!
