What is it?
This is a RightScale ServerTemplate that combines some configuration code, some automation, and some other goodies which allows you to automatically launch a new UOX server on any of the IaaS cloud providers which RightScale currently supports. At the time of this writing that's all the regions of Amazons AWS, Rackspace, SoftLayer, Datapipe, Logicworks, and IDC Frontier (Yahoo! Japan).
How do I use it?
Sign up for a RightScale account, pick the cloud you want to launch your server on, import my ServerTemplate, specify a few inputs and launch the server!
What does it do?
It will automatically setup the OS (either Ubuntu or CentOS). Then it will download the UO multis files from the location specified (you have to put them in a zipfile that get's downloaded when you're launching the server). Lastly it will either install the base spawn file and world files, or restore your script/shard files from the latest backup.
As eluded to earlier, this ServerTemplate is setup to automatically create a backup of your script/shard files once a day, and put it into a "cloud drive". You can specify where you store your backups, the current choices are Amazon S3, Rackspace CloudFiles, or SoftLayer.
Lemme know if you have any questions, I intend to maintain this and improve it over time. Watch this space for a shard I intend to launch based on this template pretty soon.
