UOX3.org Concept Site - Feedback please :)

For everything not directly related to UOX3; Such as official UO, other emus, and everyday chatter about stuff. And whatnot.

Fixed :P Though I should probably change the search page a bit hehe..

Not sure about the link-opening thing though. Will check it out when I get back home, now - I'm heading out!

Hm. Easy enough to make all the links to external pages open in the same window, just give the new window a particular name in the target= field. But I'm not sure if it's such a good idea. Could become the root of much frustration =)

Lets say you open a link to, say, sourceforge. You keep the link open, and you open additional windows on your own, going to other places. After a while, you refocus the uox3.org window to open a link to, say, ryandor.com - and then it loads over your sourceforge window because you forgot to manually select "open in new window" or whatnot from the link :P

That is, if I understood you correctly hehe.

I think target="_blank" fixes that?

target="_blank" is what I have on the links now :) We were talking about opening all links in the same new window (i.e. all links open in the same window as the first link opened). :P

I suppose I'm just spoiled on tabs, now, with firefox ;)

Many internet browser windows open bugs me (especially since typically I have my text editor [which thank God is tabbed], VS.net, UO, UOX3, windows explorer, and any number of web sites open simultaneously), needless to say, the taskbar gets congested. :P

Firefox doesn't open the links as new tabs in the same Firefox window? Opera does ;P

Hmm. No idea how to force FireFox to not open the links in a completely new window - isn't there some option you can tweak in Firefox for that?

After I posted that, I looked around

No tag in HTML, that I could find, which would do so.

And nothing in the options to change that... perhaps a registry tweak, but even for that I couldn't find any conclusive option to change.

There is a super-awesome XP powertoy (unofficial MS tweak – go to microsoft.com and search for them) that allows you to have separate desktops or just taskbars. I love it, because I can chat in one desktop, work in another, and research stuff in a third. You have to play with it to get it to work how you want, and it can flub your taskbar up if you don’t install it right, but once you do, it makes life much easier.

If you’re familiar at all with Linux, it’s exactly like that, but with the option of only changing the taskbar and not the desktop itself (although I like changing the desktop with it).
