Unable to Smelt ore

I have setup a new server using the Community-made Spawn.dfn and the Default UOX3 Worldfiles and I can mine but when I try to smelt the ore it comes back and says "You can melt only player made items". Since this is the first time I have ever attempted to setup a UO server not sure where to go for troubleshooting. If someone could point me in a direction I would greatly appreciate it.

If I remember correctly, to smelt ore you need to double-click the ore and then target a forge. Double-clicking the forge and then targeting an item will instead try to smelt down armors/weapons into ingots again, I think.

Thank you very much, it has been a long time since I played UO and forgot that.

No worries. In all fairness, there's no reason why you shouldn't - ideally - be able to smelt ore in both of those ways, just was never implemented that way.
