Hangs at "Logging into Shard"

I just set up my shard, logged on using 127.0.0.1, my local ip, and my router IP, everything works...for me.

I'm trying to get my first player logged on to my server, he's got everything in the right places, and can get to the "logging into shard" screen (right before character selection) where it hangs. No problems to note in his launcher log, it looks normal. His account is set up and I can log into my shard with his account from my computer.

From the server side, I see him join from his home, it also looks normal, no errors or anything in the server logs. No firewalls or security on the server. My client and server are on the same machine, port forwarded, all good.

I've been all over the docs and the forums and the internet, I cannot figure out what is preventing him from joining. I've run out of things for him to try. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for getting him connected?

Welcome to UOX3, Highfather! Can I ask what your EXTERNALIP setting in UOX.INI is set to? Login from local/LAN IPs should work by default without any changes needed, but to allow connections from WAN/Internet your public IP needs to be added in that setting, and server restarted/ini reloaded.

If you've done that already, it's also possible that the issue is not on your server's side, but with the player. Has the player tried disabling their firewall/allowing the client? Alternatively, could you have someone else try to log on? If you poke me on Discord while I'm around, I don't mind giving it a shot.
