Yeah I got the all in one package of this site. And the fisrt thing I did was try to add a teleport. (so I didnt touch anything else)

I add 0x14e3 0x14e4 0x14e5 and 0x14e6 (the chaos platform) for the teleport.

And I use the steps I mentioned earlier on all four tiles...

I would tell you the cordnats of where I put the teleport but my commands are still not working even with uo rice. :( But I can tell you its really close to the default starting location.

The cordnats to where the teleport goes is x4421 y1165 z0 (moonglow)

Hm. Still no crash. As for your commands not working... what do you mean? You get access-denied? If so, open your accounts.adm file and check that the account you're using has FLAGS=0x8000 (or something like that.). Also, try doing 'MAKE GM ingame, or 'SET COMMANDLEVEL 3 (on yourself).

Ehm. Just to make sure... you didn't actually type "'SET MOREXYZ x4421 y1165 z0" exactly like that, did you? :P

Well when I try to use any command it says "Unrecognized command" And I looked in my accounts file and all is well in there. And no I don't use the combo command with set morexyz. I take the long way and type in each one at a time. :)

Yes, but what I meant was - do you include the actual letters x, y and z when typing in the coordinates? :) If you do, stop doing that :P

As for "unrecognized command"... sounds like something has been corrupted - check carefully during UOX3 startup and take note of any red lines with error messages (press PAUSE/BREAK to pause the scrolling, enter to continue again).

Ok... had to take a breack from the computer for a moment. :)

But no I didnt put in the x,y,z with the cordnats... hehe
And I started uox and looked carfully but didnt find any red lines, but I did find that when loading map1.mul it says [skipped] I don't think that would cause problems with the commands but maybe somthing to do with the teleport crashes?

Hm =P Make sure you're not already running UOX3... that error usually occurs when another instance of UOX3 is occupying the necessary system resources :)

If it doesn't run already, try CTRL+ALT+DELETE and see if you find UOX3.EXE in the process list. If you do, end the process.

If it's not there either, try restarting. :/

Yeah that worked. :) thx

Well I decided to have a friend try and get on my server from a remote computer and see what happens when he uses he teleport. (I'm still convinced it has something with the computer I'm using even though I have a new computer) Heh but that idea just brought more things for me to try and figure out and learn. So now I have a question about conecting other ppl

What do other people need on thier computer (as far as files and such) to con to my server? And how exactly do I set my files up for letting them con?

I read some forms here and didnt have much luck...

My friend has latest of uo SE. I got him to change his login.cfg file to match my IP address. And he used uog to try and login. But he recives the message "couldnt connect to uo"

I changed my settings in the .ini files and set it up in uog

We both have dial up and I used the web site www.no-ip.com (something like that) to pin point my IP address and used that. And no luck...

And BTW thank you everyone for your time in trying to help me out on this! I just seem to have the best luck and come up with all the good errors. heh :roll:

Ok still can't get my friend to con...

But I've been trying to work on a new method of getting regular chrs to a city without the teleport. I left a rune to a city and a recall scroll so that the new chr can recall there. But when my test chr double clicks the recall scroll same crash... :cry: Before JS I rember working in a trigger with an npc that sent a chr to another location. Seeing as how I'm not to good with JS maybe you could make me a script where if a chr says a "keyword" the npc will send the chr to a certain location. *shurgs* Maybe it will work... worth a shot I suppose...

Thanks

If you're both on dialup, can I assume you're not behind a router/external firewall? If that's the case, all your friend should need to do is put your IP (http://www.whatsmyip.com) in the local server he adds in UOGateway, along with the port 2593. He can possibly use the no-ip.com address you setup instead of your ip-address, but might as well try the ip-address first so you know it's working.

Same goes for your UOX.INI file. What you can do is set up the [play server list] section like this, to allow both local & online logins:

[play server list]
{
SERVERLIST=Offline Login,127.0.0.1,2593
SERVERLIST=Online Login,your.ip.address.here,2593
}

As for your teleport crash problem... what happens if you edit js\commands\go.js and set...
RegisterCommand( "go", 1, true );
to
RegisterCommand( "go", 0, true );
...and then try to use the 'GO x y z command as a normal player (after restarting UOX3)? Still crash? Also - is it the server that crashes, or the UO Client?

Well my friend is not at home to try to con to my server at the moment.

I tryed what you said using the 'go command on the test chr and it worked!
He went right to the cordnats in moonglow without any problems at all. But when my server crashes it is the server that goes down. The cleint stays up and says "connection lost" I have also noticed that my GM can use the teleport as much as he wants without a problem...

I also have come acrros the error "bad length in multi file" And it repeats continualsly as I play. I have not come to any crashes or errors while playing b/c of this error. But maybe something I need to fix? I don't have any houses placed or boats. Just a couple of regular decs in a couple vendor shops.

The "bad length in multi file" may have occured because of an invalid item or a corrupted multi. Usual reasons for this includes having played around with houses/boats - even if there are none left in your world right now.

Back to the teleport bug...
Try to save the following script as UOX3\JS\CUSTOM\GlobalLogin.js, then add 0=custom\GlobalLogin.js in your jse_fileassociations.scp file while the server is shut down:

Code: Select all

function onCreateDFN( objMade, objType)
{
	if( objType == 0 && !objMade.npc )
   		pUser.SetLocation( 1495, 1629, 10 );
}
Create a new character, and see if it teleports you to Britain without crashing.

Hmmm... I did what you asked. And still got the crash like usual. :(

Could it have something to do with my memmory on the computer. I'm running on 576 MB of ram. But each time the server crashes, I can't start the client back up b/c I get a system error saying that it can't start uo b/c the system is low on recources. I just rebot and its fine. So maybe something to do with that?

It's a possibility. Either that, or a virus/spyware on your computer. Strange if there's no reason for it, seeing as no one else is experiencing that particular error :/

k. I'm gonna run some anti-virsus and anti-spyware programs. And I am going to try and get my friend to test out the teleport from a different computer. (that wont be for another 30min or so) And see if there is any difference...

Thanks Xuri for your time and help! :wink:
