I have updated the dfndata.zip again. The Britain farmland should now be a bit more populated and I also added some monsters/NPCs/regs to the area south of the farmland.

Edit:
The following npclists have been changed for this: "barnlist" and "farmlist".

Since making use of your dfndata file (along with Xuri's latest scripts from the downloads section) I keep getting this error every time I start the server.

| Warning: Bad NPC Script with problem item 0X13E4 executed!
| Warning: Bad NPC Script with problem item 0X13E4 executed!

About 10-20 more of those spam in the console. Only happens at startup, and I traced it back to many of the shopkeep NPC's (I imagine it's happening when they all spawn for the first time).

Hmmm, the release build of UOX3 doesn't show this. And I didn't modify the shopkeep NPCs at all.

Just a note to whoever wants to add this to the DFNs.

I just got through writing a new NPC. Barkeepers!!!!!!!
The have some basic things that you might find in a manly bar.
You know:
Roast pig, Fried fish, kegs of cider, lots of wine, lots of liquor, and so on. Great NPC for the pubs around the world. I'm working on putting a shopkeep in every store in britan right now. Once i'm done, i'll be happy to send in the Shared files with all that info. I've also added some guards and an normal people.

giwo, i'm sure you could add in the barkeep stuff to the main source, just let me know when you want it.

whoa! this df zip file is worth it's weight in golden coins!

very nice! it would be very cool if this file is maintained on a regular/community basis!

Kudos!

Update edit:

I have added the remaining empty grounds (around an extra of 100 areaspawns). It now covers the complete Britannia world, as well as all dungeons and that land of Ophidians (don't know the name of the land, only been there once or twice on OSI shard).

If the rest of you guys think I need to repost it, let me know. As of right now, I don't think it's warranted to post it already.

Nice, just upload it somewhere and post a link to it when you feel it's ready.

It also would be very good when someone, who still plays on OSI servers, looks after the npc lists for the different regions. I haven't played for over 6 years on official servers, so I really don't know much about how the official world looks like anymore.

Also I think you won't need the other dfn files from the zip with the current UOX version, because it already contains all of the changes I did. So you only need the spawn.dfn.

I once again updated the dfndata.zip, it now contains the new spawnregions from Fresshness (many thanks for doing this work), I added spawns for ocean creatures (from the ocean list) all over the bigger water areas and added another npclist "weakforestlist" and I'm using this one for the forrests around Britain.

I also modfied the spawnregions from Fresshness in the following way:
  • Added reagent spawns to every non dungeon area.
  • Increased the ammount of creatures/items spawned within a cycle (the CALL tag).
  • Changed the time between spawn cycles from 1 to 2 minutes into 5 to 15 minutes to lessen the cpu usage due the spawns (at least on the 400MHz machine I use for the server it makes a difference).

Looking good =)

By the way, if you make a new thread dedicated to the spawn-files, I'll make it a sticky thread - makes it easier for people to find.

I'll put tomorow a nice thread together. Currently I don't have any free time to play around with uox3, so I won't be able to make any updates to the spawn file in the next time :(. But in it's current state the world is already quite populated, so it shouldn't be too bad.
