About the cluox sources, they are incomplete

Post by Grimson »

The software partition on my server machine just run out of space. After searching why it did this I found that the console_log.txt from cluox has grown to 5GB! That's quite a bit.

So I though, get the sources and disable the logging, as there's no option for it in cluox. But the sources aren't complete, the whole "res" folder seems to be missing. So my question, has anyone still the complete sources or knows where to get them?

We could just make the confole_log.txt file a symlink to /dev/null.

If windows supported symlinking
and if windows supported the /dev filesystem.

Funny, under Linux this would've been a non-issue ;)

I have the same source, and it's incomplete. The only thing that the source is missing is the Icon and the Toolbar. Just create them and store them in the res folder. Then do your mods. I'll recreate the files the way they were.

OK, I used an Icon Extractor and got the old Icon. I also did away with the toolbar.bmp file and the cluox.rc2 file. Some one else will have to rebuild those.

The new source is on my site here: http://downloads.shadowbranch.com/cpp/cluox_src.zip

This source compiles fine on Windows XP using MS Visual Studio 6. So any linux users that want to rebuild the RC2 file, feel free to get the source and do it to it!

I'll add a new options section so we can turn things on and off and set a directory for the UOX3.exe and a few other things i'd like to see in it.

I'll keep you posted on how it's going.

ok, i've finished working on the new version of cluox. it's now at version 1.3

below is the change log for it:
/*************************************/
/* July 17, 2005 */
/* Version: 1.3 */
/*************************************/
Added a new dialog box: Options
Added logging enabled and a log directory
Added the ability to run cluox.exe in a separate directory from uox3

Xuri has box the windows binary and source in his mail. i'm sure he will post a news article once it is up on the site.

if you need it now, just find me in the uox3 chatroom on irc channel.
